Elaine Leadem

LCSW, CSAT, CMAT

Senior Therapist

Elaine Leadem is the co-founder of Leadem Counseling & Consulting Services, P.C.(LCCS). She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Elaine holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Marywood University. Her specialized training by Patrick Carnes, PhD has rewarded her with dual national certifications for Sex and Multiple Addiction Therapist by the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals. Elaine’s tenure in the addiction treatment field has spanned the past 25 years in a cross section of modalities ranging from residential treatment to intensive psycho-dramatic therapy for recovering couples. In addition to coordinating the provision of clinical services in an expanding private practice, she has co-authored three books including One in the Spirit: A meditation course for recovering couples, that is designed to support addicts and their families in their journey of recovery. She is a seasoned retreat master whose commitment to shared healing has helped recovering couples to thrive in their new romance. In addition to her duties as Clinical Director at LCCS, Elaine is actively engaged in the efforts of LCCS to bring continuing education to other professionals through the development of professional treatment guides and courses, such as Raising the Bottoms: A guide to training professional interventionists, (Leadem & Leadem, LCCS, 2012), and presentations at national conferences. She has been co-presenter at conferences sponsored by the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health, the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals and at the national conference sponsored by the Commission on Lawyers Assistance Programs.

Elaine’s personal life journey was threatened by addictions at an impressionable age, yet she has learned to use that experience, supported by extensive professional training, to provide a beacon for people whose life’s challenges seem insurmountable. She has recently celebrated her 35th year in recovery and believes that “true sobriety will escape both the seasoned and the newcomer if 12 Step Work is ignored.”
